An Empty Bliss Beyond This World

Cultivation

Whatever you desire must be cultivated. To be in a state of cultivation is to be working toward your soul’s spiritual and physical satisfaction. We do not meditate to feel good now. This sort of expectation makes meditation impossible and it can be frustrating. We meditate because we understand cultivation. Your sense of presence, peace, joy, and love, exist in relationship to how you have spent the last 50,000 moments and more. You reap what you sow. The present is the past. The now is the future.

Say you want a better relationship with someone and you have a hard time creating that better relationship. In part, it is because you have not been cultivating a better relationship. Perhaps the task seems overwhelming or difficult. It is not. It is a matter of cultivating, bit by bit. A good harvest doesn’t grow over night. And basically nothing else does either. Sometimes your desire is too strong. You are too impatient. Relationships, stable states of consciousness, and material/creative successes do not materialize like fast food. A quality life requires quality effort. But this is not the sort of effort where you are waiting for the outcome. Every day you are feeling more and more joyful as you give yourself over to the world, the self, and the relationships you are creating. You are every day giving energy to a beautiful new existence. You are like a mother or father giving himself over to a newborn child.

So at any moment, you can ask yourself: if it is such and such that I want for myself, how can I cultivate that Now? It could be as simple as thinking a single positive thought while feeling that you are in a state of cultivation. Just know that your action now is creating the reality of soon to be.
